STETHOSCOPE
MY CLINICAL ROTATION DIARY
13
Day 11
The day’s activities began with the usual Friday Morning meetings. Amongst the presentations was one which Dr Victor presented. It was a medical case. He did pretty well in my opinion.
There was also a guest presentation by a neurosurgeon. The meeting ended at about 11:00am.
Following the meeting, we went on ward rounds to see our patients as a team (usually, the patients are seen by the HOs before the whole team does). They were few patients to see today, so we finished pretty early. I was taught how to catheterize a patient (male and female), because we had to change the catheter (urinary) of one of our patients today.
At the end of the day, I said my goodbyes to the team, also informing them (I mentioned it to them before) that it was my last day at the department. I took photos with my student colleagues who were present.
In summary I enjoyed my time at the department; I learnt a lot of things about medical Practice in my home country and in general.
Here I come O&G (Obstetrics and Gynecology)! I’m particularly excited about deliveries. I look forward to helping out.
Let’s go…
