
Brazil have joined several Latin American countries like Uruguay, Chile,Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and Peru on the sale of cannabis-based products in pharmacies. The products will be sold to people with prescriptions ONLY.
This new development is said to take effect in the coming months.
ANVISA, a health regulatory agency, in a statement said that, they are looking at ways of cultivating and manufacturing such products in the laboratory as well. The new regulation will allow for the use of 0.2% THC( main psychoactive component) and more than 0.2% THC to patients who are terminally ill and have have exhausted alternative treatment options.
