On 20th January 2022, around mid-day, a large explosion occurred along the stretch of the Tarkwah- Bogoso road. The explosion happened after a truck transporting mining explosives collided with a motorcycle. The explosion was so huge to the extent that it leveled the nearby Apiate village. Many are feared dead as many more residents are rendered homeless.
