“THE MIGHTY OUTCRY”

SCRIPTURE READING: Hebrews 5:7-8

EXPOSITION:
The above scripture reveals our Lord Jesus Christ pouring His heart out in prayer during a very critical time of His life on earth. It was very intense, personal and real. He was in great need and had to cry unto the Father. In agony, the Son of God wrestled. His soul was engaged, and all His powers were taxed to a strain. During His prayer moments, Jesus always opened up His heart and made Himself available. His soul cried out to God and engaged God in prayer with a contrite heart.

KEY VERSE:
Hebrew 5:7(NIV) – During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save Him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.

LIFE APPLICATION:
Jesus engaged in prayer so much that He saw it as a valley of tears and struggle. From the scripture, we see our Lord and master praying with a mighty outcry. Precious one, prayer is not always filled with sweet language and fine expressions. Many times, prayer turns out to be a valley of tears, struggle and a battle. Let us pause to look at Him and learn how to pray in earnest. Let us learn how to win in an agony of payers that which seems to be withholding from us. We must be as prayerful, tearful and compassionate as was Christ.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, answer me as my soul cries to You. #PossessingtheNations
