How many times have you reconsidered your convictions? “Maybe this isn’t as serious as I’m making it seem…after all, everyone else does it so it’s no big deal” you’ve concluded.
If you’re wondering what the big deal is then check up, you’ve probably got your conscience wiped numb.
It’s interesting to me that sometimes God leaves us to learn from our experiences, He doesn’t always spoon-feed us, so our resolve and convictions can be strengthened. He does this while watching us like a loving father, so we’re not broken beyond repair. I say this with respect to the experience I had, because of which I now have a clearer perspective on the situation, and no longer doubt the conviction I had.
In the world we live today, truth isn’t the in thing; integrity is an old wives’ tale. Even the truth some people try to live is haunted by the shadows of deception it reflects. So what do we do? Do we swim with the tide or avoid swimming at all? Well, have you heard of swimming against the tide? That’s the thing to do! No one is born to do his own thing. We’re naturally attracted to what’s happening, what’s popular… music, fashion, etc. I must inform you that it takes a strong will of the mind, call it supernatural, to swim against the tide; to choose truth, truth without shadows of deception, when almost everything around you speak lies; to wear integrity even if you have to look like a fool.
This wouldn’t make sense if all that matters to you is the here and now, and doesn’t include the after.
Life is truly worth living when you live for the after, so LIVE and REALLY LIVE. Feed your conscience, don’t kill it!
Have a lovely week.
